Custom fit education
for
your unique child
The mathematician’s patterns, like the painter’s or the poet’s must be beautiful; the ideas, like the colours or the words, must fit together in a harmonious way. Beauty is the first test: there is no permanent place in the world for ugly mathematics.
– G. H. Hardy
Math is everywhere. It is woven into every aspect of our lives. I help my students discover the beauty and the joy of mathematics and lead them to recognizing its value and relevance to their own lives.
My approach is holistic – I look at the whole child. Your child will be respected, listened to, and taken seriously. My students become invested in and take responsibility for their own learning.
The result is security in knowing that your children will possess the tools to tackle any problem in academia... and beyond!
Children are not people of tomorrow, but people today. They are entitled to be taken seriously. They have a right to be treated by adults with tenderness and respect, as equals.
– Janucz Korczak
Private Tutoring
I work online using students’ materials. My expertise covers all areas of middle school and high school mathematics.
Test Prep
I teach my students to master and succeed on the standardized college entrance exams (both ACT and SAT). We cover all subject areas.
Family Consultation
I work with you to identify and overcome the roadblocks to your children’s academic success.
Discover the joy of math and recognize its value
I will introduce your children to the joy of mathematics and lead them to discover its relevance to their daily lives.
Understand the roadblocks to learning
I understand the issues and implications on multiple levels. I will help you and your child to understand them as well.
Become empowered to solve the issues
I will teach and empower you and your child to solve these issues.
Do you conduct your sessions in-person or online?
I meet with my students online, using their materials. Before our first meeting, I will speak to the parent to get a better idea of who their child is and what they need.
If you are more comfortable meeting in-person before the first lesson, I am happy to arrange that instead.
How often do you typically meet with your students? How long is each lesson?
Once or twice a week for an hour is usually sufficient. Some situations require longer sessions to ensure proper concept reinforcement.
What if my child has learning issues beyond mathematics?
I am on staff at the Center For Identity Potential, a trusted network of dedicated, skilled specialists. Should your child need help in areas beyond mathematics, I would be happy to direct you to the people that I have absolute confidence in.
What will you deliver?
Your child will be well equipped to solve their issues and overcome any roadblocks.
How long before our family starts seeing results?
Expect the grades to improve within a couple of sessions. The long term result of not fearing the problem at hand will be less obvious, but should manifest itself in your child’s newly found confidence in their own ability.
Where can I learn more about your approach?
You can learn a bit more about me and my approach in this interview with Andy Mahoney, the founder of the Center of Identity Potential.

I want to thank you for the wonderful approach you have taken with the kids, teaching them not only math, but also life skills. You are a teacher who truly has made a difference in A.'s life. From him, I know that you teach them how not to be afraid of difficult questions and to tackle them by thinking logically. This is a life skill. Thank you for your warm, kind, thoughtful approach to the kids. I am very thankful A. had you as a teacher.

Hello! I just wanted to update you on my test and say thank you, some of the problems that we did were on the test (like the one parallel to the axis and the substitution with the r values). I got scared at first but then remembered what we did, if it wasn’t for your help I would not have walked out of the test feeling as OK as I did. Thank you so much :)
